A man who was shot while hunting in Wisconsin died from what authorities called an “unintended discharge.”
The incident was reported at approximately 8:28 p.m. on Saturday in the town of Oakfield in Fond du Lac County, which is approximately 65 miles northwest of Milwaukee. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office said it received a call from someone reporting a man died at a tree stand near Stumpf Road and Wild Goose Road while he was hunting earlier in the day, reported WTMJ, the NBC affiliate in Milwaukee.
A preliminary investigation showed the hunter, a 24-year-old man from nearby Lomira, sustained a gunshot wound from an “unintended discharge.”
