The Stanford men and Arkansas women held onto their positions at the front of the pack, closing out the meet with a total of 972 points and 1047 points, respectively, to take home the meet title.
While the Cardinal and the Razorbacks led the competition point-wise, it was SMU and Hawaii who delivered some of the most exciting races of the night on day 4; the two teams collectively broke three school records to finish the meet in style.
SMU’s Jack Berube made a splash in the 200 back, winning the event in a lifetime best time of 1:40.15 and breaking his own program record of 1:40.37 from March. Berube’s performance marked his second win of the meet, as he previously won the 100 back (46.07). Shortly after, the Mustangs turned in another record-breaking performance in the 400 free relay thanks to the team of Sage Sungail, Eli Likins, Harold Lockhart and Benjamin Chateigner. The quartet threw down a time of 2:48.72 to finish 2nd overall, knocking over a second off of the previous team record of 2:50.39 set in 2024.
Hawaii’s Finn Brophy also clocked a new program record for the Rainbow Warriors, taking the runner-up spot in the 100 free in a lifetime best of 42.26. After posting a best time of 42.73 during prelims, which ranked 2nd on Hawaii’s top 10 times in program history, Brophy dropped another half second to shave .05 off of the former team record of 42.31, set by Karol Ostrowski last March.
Aside from the 200 back, Stanford claimed all of the remaining men’s event victories Saturday night. Freshman Omer Wiener picked up his first collegiate win in the 200 IM, charging into the wall in 1:43.79 and narrowly outtouching runner-up Finn Winkler of Utah by .14 (1:43.93). Wiener’s opening performance was followed by Cardinal victories by Andres Dupont in the 100 free (42.24) and Henry McFadden in the 200 fly (1:42.77).
Stanford completed a sweep of the relay events by winning the 400 free relay. The team of Dupont, Ethan Harrington, Jonathan Tan and Rafael Gu posted a time of 2:48.01.
Arkansas continued to dominate the women’s side of the competition, winning three events on the final day and breaking two pool records in the process. The Razorbacks prevailed in the 400 free relay, with the team of Tammy Greenwood, Harriet Rogers, Sydney Craft and Delaney Harrison touching 1st in 3:15.25 and setting a new pool record.
Craft and Rogers each picked up an individual victory as well. Craft won the 1650 free in 16:29.03, cruising into the wall over 15 seconds ahead of runner-up Karly Boles of SMU and breaking the pool record in the process. Rogers, meanwhile, prevailed in the 100 free in a lifetime best time of 47.96.
Hawaii’s Zofia Tyminska claimed her third win of the meet, taking home the title in the 200 IM with a personal best time of 1:58.39. Tyminska’s performance marked the 3rd-fastest time in program history, rounding out a series of top swims for her after winning the 100 and 200 breast earlier in the meet. The Rainbow Wahine picked up another victory thanks to Lovisa Gustavsson, who won the platform diving event with 254.25 points.
