ActorAnson Mount is getting candid about how he feels finishing up the fifth and final season of the Paramount+ series,Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
Mount, who has starred as Captain Christopher Pike since the show's first season, which premiered in 2022, admitted he's exhausted due to late-night shoots and early morning travels in a November 22 Instagram upload.
"I finished shooting last night, for the week around 11:30 [pm] or so, and got back to my hotel around midnight. And I had to be at the airport at 4 [am] and now it's like 4:45 [am]," said the actor with a small laugh in his Instagram video.
He clarified that he wasn't "complaining" about his circumstances.
"In fact, I think that it's a privilege to be exhausted by doing the thing that you love. There's kind of a really nice feeling associated with that. I feel kind of a satisfaction, so deep it's also kind of in my soul, at the same time that I'm bleary. But I'm tired. I'm tired physically, I'm tired mentally, I'm tired creatively," said Mount, who was wearing a Starfleet hat, while speaking to his camera.
He also shared he was traveling to visit his wife, Darah Trang, and their two young daughters for one day before he had to get back to the Star Trek: SNW set in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
"I'm flying home for a day to see my girls. I got to come straight back. And I realize that's a privilege that I can do that. 'Cause there's a lot of other people, including our military, who are not able to do that. So I feel blessed. I feel very, very blessed, and thankful, grateful," said the actor.
He also shared that he's "the happiest [he 's] ever been" and has achieved his goals, in both his personal and professional life.
