Pakistan National Cricket Team superstar batsman Babar Azam has equalled a legendary T20I record of the India National Cricket Team batting great Virat Kohli.
Babar Azam achieved the sensational milestone in the fourth match of the Tri-Nation series against the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team at the Rawalpindi Stadium on Sunday, November 23.
After the disastrous Asia Cup 2025, Pakistan head coach Mike Hesson decided to make some changes to the T20I setup and recalled the talented batter Babar Azam to the squad.
Babar restarted his T20I career decently and quickly surpassed Rohit Sharma to become the leading run-getter in the history of T20I cricket.
However, he started the Tri-Nation series against Zimbabwe with a duck and followed it up with a score of 16 against the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team.
Then, finally, in the second match against The Chevrons, Babar showed some form and hit a good fifty. He finished his innings with a score of 74 off 52 balls, and his innings was studded with 7 fours and 2 sixes.
This performance helped Babar Azam reach 38 half-centuries in T20I cricket, which is the joint-most in the format alongside Virat Kohli.

Earlier, after winning the toss, the Pakistan skipper, Salman Agha, stated that they have been playing good cricket and want to continue doing that. He said:
"We are going to bat first. I think it is still a good wicket to bat on so we want to change the trend and challenge ourselves by batting first as we have been chasing a lot. We are playing good cricket. It was a complete game (against SL). We want to do it day in day out. I just want to do well, doesn't matter if it's my birthday or not."
Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe skipper Sikandar Raza stated that they aim to derail every team in the ongoing series. He said:
"We came into this series to derail every team. We had a good game against Pakistan and the result went our way in the next game. I wanted to bowl first because we have been batting first and my toss record is pretty poor (smiles). One change because we wanted to give everyone a go. Wellington Masakadza is in for Graeme Cremer."
