Even though the cameo lasts only a few seconds, the comments came in fast. “Everybody say thank you Kate Hudson?‍↔️‼️,” one person wrote. “Proof that Kate reads our comments ?,” another added. “His sweet little smile like I’m crying,” someone else chimed in. Another joked, “Now it’s time to teach Hugh how to use TikTok ??,” while a fan jumped in with, “I didn’t know we were doing requests. Ok will you love me as much as I love you please?”

The moment also lands in the middle of a big stretch for the pair. They’ve been on a nonstop promo tour for Song Sung Blue, which premiered at AFI Fest on October 26. A few days later, they screened the film at the Savannah Film Festival, where director Craig Brewer was honored. 

Earlier in October, Hudson joined Jackman onstage at Radio City Music Hall during one of his final From New York With Love shows, where they performed Neil Diamond hits “Cherry, Cherry” and “Sweet Caroline” from Song Sung Blue.

Later that month, Jackman shared an Instagram video of himself singing karaoke with Diamond, 84, at the musician’s home in Colorado, thanking him for supporting the film.

And just two weeks ago, Hudson performed “Forever in Blue Jeans” with Tedeschi Trucks Band at The Peppermint Club in West Hollywood, a performance she posted on Instagram with a nod to the Diamond classic she and Jackman sing in the movie.

The duo has been just as busy overseas. They appeared together on The Graham Norton Show, where Hudson said she and Jackman were “a mess” watching the film for the first time — and that her parents, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, cried through it.

After the film’s European premiere at Berlin’s Zoo Palast on November 19, they capped the night by performing "Sweet Caroline" for fans at Kreuzberg club Fluxbau.
