A former swim coach with Beloit Memorial High School in Beloit, Wisconsin, has been charged with sexual assault and child enticement, according to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office.
Andre DeKok, 61, was charged on Tuesday after allegedly sexually assaulting several minors.
DeKok served as the boys’ volleyball coach at Beloit Memorial, while he also assisted the middle school level swim team. According to the Beloit Daily News, he was named the Big Eight Conference Boys Volleyball Coach of the Year in 2010. He retired from high school coaching in 2021.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office said the Detective Bureau learned in late 2024 of alleged sexual contact between DeKok and a then-16-year-old former male student. Once the individual came forward, four others followed and told investigators that they had received sexual messages or had been sexually assaulted by DeKok in years past.
The criminal complaint obtained by 13 WREX alleges DeKok invited the young boys to his house, provided them with alcohol while they were underage, touched their genitals, and performed sexual acts on them.
School District of Beloit Interim Superintendent Wayne Anderson issued a public statement following the charges being made:
“The School District of Beloit was notified today (November 18) that Andre DeKok, a former District employee, was arrested by the Rock County’s Sheriff’s Department for possible sexual assault of a student by a school staff and child enticement. Mr. DeKok retired from the School District of Beloit on June 10, 2021. At this time, the District does not have any additional information related to the allegations. The District will fully cooperate with the Rock County Sheriff’s Department during its investigation.”
DeKok had been assisting with VC United, an elite volleyball club, since retiring from high school coaching and was listed as a coach on VC United’s website as of Tuesday but has since been removed.
The club released the following statement addressing the allegations to 13 WREX:
“We take all matters of this nature very seriously. The moment we became aware of the allegations regarding Andre DeKok’s conduct at a school where he previously worked, we placed him under a no-contact order with our club families. Our athletes’ safety and well-being remain our top priority, and we maintain a zero-tolerance policy for any behavior that threatens that commitment. We will fully cooperate with any law enforcement investigation.”
DeKok’s bond was set at $500,000 on November 19 and he is scheduled to have an adjourned initial appearance on December 11. His bail conditions include that he is not permitted to have intentional contact with minors and is not allowed to have any contact with Beloit-affiliated schools. He is also restricted from contacting any of the witnesses in the case and was ordered to “refrain from engaging in any coaching roles.”
If convicted, DeKok faces up to 25 years in prison on the enticement charge and six years on the sexual assault charge.
