Fans of the energy drink line Monster are not happy after hearing about the brand's upcoming release, a new line of drinks called FLRT, marketed to women.
The new drink line explains on the official website that it was "born from a simple idea: energy should be as vibrant, fearless, and fun as the women who drink it. Better-for-you ingredients, with zero-sugar, no crashes, and no compromises."
The FLRT line is expected to launch in 2026, and reported flavors include Berry Tempting, Guava Lava, Strawberry Fling, and Sunset Squeeze.
While there are some people excited about FLRT, a wave of fans slammed Monster for making a "female-focused" drink, calling out the gendered marketing. In reaction to Dextero's social media post about the news, one fan said, "why yall give gender for everything."
"It’s 2025. Tf are doing making 'female focused' drink flavors. Men like guava fruit too? The he’ll am I supposed to enjoy instead of'wood chips and bourbon' flavored monster?" said another, while someone else joked, "Me learning today that monster is meant for men."
A few who seemed interested in the FLRT drinks commented, "I’m obsessed ngl," and "Ok I’m in."
A different Monster fan went viral on TikTok with their criticism of the FLRT line, with user strangely_quarked saying, "I cannot fathom who the f--k told Monster or Coke that women can't drink Monster, so we need to come up with an entire new brand that only women can have. ="
They then called out the simple designs, before declaring, "And also, everybody drinks Monsters. I don't know why we're like, trying to reinvent the wheel here."

Many Women Shared Their Love for Original Monster Drinks
Fans flooded the comments with similar reactions, with one outright saying, "Right I’m offended tbh."
Others wrote, "it's giving Bic for Her," "Flirt as a name is insane," and "I suspect the marketing room did not include women." "Gendered marketing makes me so angry," read a similar comment.
But the most common note from female fans on the video was that they already love the original Monster drinks, with many saying things like, "I think actual monster cans are way cuter than the flirt ones ? id rather be seen drinking a monster than a flirt."
"Monster cans are literally already girly and cute," said someone else, with people sharing photos of specific flavors as reference, such as the Monster Ultra Fantasy Ruby Red in a pink can, and the Juiced Monster Monarch in a light orange design.
Another loyal fan commented, "I literally have a tattoo of the Strawberry Dream monster. She's cutesy," referring to the Monster Ultra Strawberry Dream, which is in a light pink can.
As of writing, Monster has not addressed the backlash to the reported FLRT drink line.
