ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Thanksgiving is less than a week away, and the community gathered for a Thankful-Giving dinner on North Clinton Avenue Friday night.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. School No. 9 hosted the event, teaming up with multiple local organizations. They provided hundreds of winter coats and gloves for families in need.
“Bringing everyone together to have a good night, maybe forgetting about some other issues, and just thinking about what Thanksgiving really means, and it’s not just about family, but it’s also about community,” said Pastor Bernard McNeill from New Life Fellowship Church.
The event also included free haircuts for students and health screenings.
