Brady Quinn took some shots at the SEC during the Fox Big Noon Kickoff pregame show on Saturday morning, but his rant wasn’t centered on 1 specific team.
Instead, it was about the whole conference in general, which is taking its annual late November break, as some might call it, with some SEC teams playing far lesser opponents. That “far lesser” might be an understatement, and even though this is what the SEC has been doing for a while, it doesn’t mean Quinn had to like it as he broke down the SEC’s College Football Playoff situation.
The Fox Sports college football analyst and former Notre Dame star quarterback wasn’t holding back on Saturday morning, even as he admitted that the league would get a high number of teams into the Playoff.
“I think there’s going to be a number of teams from the SEC. If you look at the rankings right now, there would be 5 (teams getting in the Playoff),” said Quinn, before letting the SEC have it a little. “These teams are on a bye week at this point. These teams just decided to take a nap? I guess that’s how it works in the SEC.”
Quinn’s list of SEC Playoff teams was headlined by Texas A&M, with Georgia there, too, and with Alabama and Ole Miss getting in as well.
But what about the 5th SEC team?
“Oklahoma is that 5th team that gets in,” Quinn said. “I think it’s going to end up being 5 (teams) in the SEC. (Oklahoma) actually has to play someone this week. They’re one of the only teams in the SEC that’s actually playing someone.”
