    CLEVELAND, Ohio — Akron delivered a dominant showing Friday at the Magnus Cup Invitational, stacking up relay wins and individual titles to highlight the second day of competition.

    Akron stayed in first place after finishing the second day with 1,031 points. Northern Colorado placed second with 788 points while Bowling Green rounded out the top three with 699 points.

    The Zips opened the evening with a statement victory in the women’s 200-yard medley relay, as Felicia Klintemar, Claire Cox, Callie Parkes and Ada Szwabinska touched first in 1:39.36, topping Northern Colorado and Bowling Green.

    Klintemar carried that momentum into the 100 butterfly, winning the event in 52.95. Akron placed four swimmers in the A final, with Parkes finishing fourth, Addy Soehnlen fifth and Avery Knight seventh. Hannah Trainer added a 10th-place finish.

    Akron’s depth continued to show in the B and C finals, where Maggie Patterson (11th) and Szwabinska (12th) led the second heat and Ava Withey added a 20th-place finish.

    In the 400 IM, Patterson returned to take third in 4:25.34, while Madelyn Bosler placed fifth. Carrie Caniglia (13th), Cora Spetz (16th) and Brienne Trumpower (38th) contributed additional points in later heats, and Soehnlen picked up another top-32 finish in the D final.

    Akron closed the night with another top performance as Helena Lalkovic won the 200 freestyle in 1:49.04, edging Northern Colorado’s Kyra Rabess.

    The Zips saw Sophia Stamm lead the way in the 3-meter dive with a 6th place finish and a score 250.20 points. Paige Bush placed 10th with a score of 234.40.

    Through two days, Akron’s mix of top-end speed and depth across all finals positioned the Zips among the strongest programs in the field as the meet moves into its final day.

    CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Vikings remain atop the standings with 1,109 points after the second day of Magnus Cup. St. Bonaventure is in second with 923.5 points, and Binghamton is third with 916 points.

    Liam Pearson placed fourth in 1-meter diving with a score of 267.20, and Paxton Martinez was a spot back with a score of 251.40.

    Cleveland State went first and second in the 200-yard medley relay to open the second night, led by the B-team of Noah Greer, Alex Cucu, Justin Schneider, and Jacopo Lanzo with a time of 1:29.90.

    Daniel Lyngaas claimed the top spot in the 100-yard butterfly after touching in 47.47, while Schneider came in sixth with a time of 48.85.

    The Vikings went fourth and fifth in the 400-yard IM with Brock Wallace (3:59.59) and Aidan Florio (4:01.09).

    Cleveland State took the third through sixth spots of the 200-yard freestyle, led by Lanzo with a time of 1:38.57.

    Tyler Schultze set his second Magnus Cup record time in the 100-yard breaststroke after finishing in 53.36. He also set the record for the 50-yard breaststroke with a split time of 24.72.

    The 100-yard backstroke saw the Green and White go sixth and seventh with Tanner Beck (50.39) and Greer (50.41).

    The evening ended with a runner-up finish by the 800-yard freestyle relay of Lyngaas, Davillier, Greer, and Lanzo with a time of 6:39.32.
