Waymo has received approval from the California Department of Motor Vehicles to expand its driverless robot-taxi service to the East Bay, North Bay, and Sacramento, the company said Friday.
The permission allows the Google-spinoff company, owned by Google parent Alphabet, to offer robotaxi service across the entire Bay Area, northward to Cloverdale, and eastward to Sacramento.
“We’re looking forward to opening our service to more Californians,” Waymo said in a press release.
