Since filing for divorce from Denise Richards, Aaron Phypers has accused the Wild Things actor of cheating during their relationship. The accusations claim Richards and Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test instructor Rudy Reyes were allegedly having an affair.
In an interview with Decider, Reyes opens up about whether the accusations are true.
"First of all, of course, I respect what we do on our program, and there’s trust and commitment," said Reyes. "Every recruit on our course is in our hands, and I will never do anything that would ever jeopardize that."
While not wanting to delve any further into the accusations, Reyes did add, "I look in the mirror and I have respect and pride in myself and what I represent."
Reyes and Richards met when the actor was a celebrity recruit during Season 3 of Special Forces. The series is known for casting celebrities and putting them through intensive training and missions led by an elite team of ex-Special Forces operatives.
According to a letter weeks after Phypers filed for divorce, he allegedly discovered evidence of Richards and Reyes having a six-month affair.
He claimed that Richards begged him to stay and later denied the affair. The letter also reportedly says he found explicit messages, videos, and details of the relationship.
Following Phypers' public accusations, Richards filed a temporary restraining order against him. Page Six reported that the actor claimed Phyper would physically abuse her, citing that he would frequently choke her, slap her in the face, and squeeze her head.
In the documents, she also called Phypers "paranoid" over the house plants having listening devices. She also recalls an incident where he slammed her into the ground after suggesting he didn't accompany her on a work trip.
Phypers has denied the allegations, with their divorce filing claiming "irreconcilable differences".
