Some of country music’s biggest stars turned out for the celebration of the 59th annual CMA Awards at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday (Nov. 19) night. But some familiar faces were noticeably absent from the long list of attendees.
Jason Aldean, 48, and his wife, Brittany Aldean, 37, who tied the knot in 2015, missed out on “Country Music’s Biggest Night,” and their reason appeared to be due to personal choice.
Brittany was on social media the night of the big event, where she answered a handful of fan-related questions in her Instagram Stories. When one person asked why she and Aldean weren’t at the CMA Awards, the social media influencer and former Charlotte Bobcats (Charlotte Hornets) dancer was bold in her response.
“Not much love from that one,” she replied, insinuating that Aldean’s choice to be MIA was intentional, perhaps due to the country star hardly getting recognized by the CMA.
And, rightfully so, as he has had a lot of success, scoring 30 No. Hits. Despite that, he has only earned two CMA trophies throughout his 25-year career span. Aldean’s awards include Album of the Year for My Kinda Party and Musical Event of the Year for “The Only Way I Know.”
A Handful of Country Artists Missed the 2025 CMA Awards
The Aldeans weren’t sitting at home watching the telecast either. They appeared to be enjoying a family trip in Miami, according to Brittany’s Instagram page. Aldean also wasn’t the only country singer to skip out on the CMAs. Other artists who missed the show for various reasons were Rascal Flatts’ Gary LeVox, Morgan Wallen, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, Carrie Underwood, Jelly Roll, Post Malone, Reba McEntire, Luke Bryan, and Kane Brown.
This year’s ceremony was a big one for Lainey Wilson, who not only served as the solo host for the evening, she won the night’s top prize — Entertainer of the Year. A six-time nominee, Wilson also took home trophies for Female Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year for Whirlwind. Other country artists who earned some hardware at the 2025 CMA Awards included Ella Langley, Riley Green, Cody Johnson, The Red Clay Strays, Brooks & Dunn, Post Malone, Blake Shelton, Zach Top, and Paul Franklin.
