Chadwick Boseman's widow Simone Ledward-Boseman is honoring her late husband with a touching gesture at his Hollywood Walk of Fame star.
The Black Panther actor was posthumously honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025. Ledward-Boseman accepted the honor on her husband's behalf, and the ceremony featured remarks from Black Panther director Ryan Coogler and his Ma Rainey's Black Bottom co-star Viola Davis.
After the star was unveiled, Ledward-Boseman placed an old pair of her husband's shoes on the star — signifying that the late actor was attending the ceremony in spirit.

"Man… that hit deep. Missing him all over again. Prayers for her strength. I can’t imagine what that moment felt like," wrote one fan. "So touching... what a beautiful tribute." said another.

Boseman died at the age of 43 in August 2020 following a private four-year battle with colon cancer.
The actor never spoke publicly about his cancer diagnosis, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, only a handful of non-family members knew that Boseman was sick before his death.
Boseman and Ledward-Boseman reportedly got engaged sometime around October 2019, and they later married in secret, which was revealed by the actor's family in a statement announcing his death.
