Elaine Hendrix and her ballroom pro partner Alan Bersten punched their ticket to the Dancing With the Stars Season 34 finals. The couple has worked hard over the past several weeks and Hendrix has certainly become a force to be reckoned with on the dance floor.
The 54-year-old has become the seventh cast member over age 50 to make the finale. John O’Hurley was the first in Season 1, followed by Donny Osmond on Season 9. Osmond went on to win the Mirrorball Trophy alongside his pro partner, Kym Herjavec (nee Johnson). Then, in Season 11, a 50-year-old Jennifer Grey won the Mirrorball with Derek Hough.
Rounding out the list of celebs over age 50 to make the DWTS finals we have Kirstie Alley on Season 12, Bill Engvall on Season 17, and Wayne Brady on Season 31. Given the show's history, Hendrix absolutely has a shot at finishing the competition in first place. However, she's up against some very stiff competition, including fan favorite Robert Irwin and his partner Witney Carson.

"Fav moment of the entire night, the way Alfonso announced it and your reactions, I'm so happy for you," one person commented on the post.
"I heard, 'She's 54,' realized it was Elaine, and screamed so loud I missed everything else that was said. So happy for y'all!" someone else wrote.
The season hasn't been all rainbows and butterflies for Hendrix, though she's truly loved this experience. She suffered an injury that landed her in the hospital. During rehearsals for Halloween Night, Hendrix injured her rib and was taken to the emergency room by ambulance.

“That day literally took my breath away,” Hendrix told People magazine in an interview published Friday, Oct. 31. "In that moment, I thought something very, very serious had happened, and I could barely breathe. I almost passed out."
Not only was Hendrix cleared to continue dancing, but she and Bersten made it through the night, with the judges scoring their performance from rehearsal.
The Dancing With the Stars finale is set to air on Tuesday, Nov. 25 on ABC.
