Chris Stapleton and Miranda Lambert Shine With ‘70s Disco Vibes at the 2025 CMA Awards

Chris Stapleton and Miranda Lambert brought their first true duet to the 2025 CMA Awards stage on Wednesday, (Nov. 19) evening, dazzling viewers with their epic collaboration “A Song To Sing.” For their showstopping delivery, the two powerhouse vocalists mesmerized onlookers, hooking them with a performance that was every bit iconic and timeless.

Surrounded by stage lights and standing beneath a giant disco ball, Stapleton and Lambert matched each other in burnt orange pantsuit and cowboy hats, offering a '70s disco-inspired theme for the song. Without effort, the superstars embodied the kind of tradition that has been beloved throughout the decades in country music, emulating duets like Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers and Johnny and June Carter Cash.

As with the lyrics, the celebrity friends threw their hearts into the lyrics, which is about equally finding peace and purpose in the music and in the relationship with the one you love.

“You are a part of me / Baby you’re the heart of me / Together we can write a song to sing / And in that melody / Baby you’re the harmony / That you just can’t find anywhere,” Lambert and Stapleton sang, blending their respective signature vocals in magical harmony.

Stapleton, who wrote “A Song To Sing” with Lambert, Jesse Frasure, and Jenee Fleenor — who is nominated for Musician of the Year — recently opened up about his collaboration with Lambert ahead of “Country Music’s Biggest Night."

In a statement, he said, “We’ve known each other for a long time. We’ve written songs together for a long time. She’s one of the first people who ever cut a song of mine. She actually cut a song called “Nobody’s Fool” that I wrote when I was 18 years old. So I have a long history with Miranda Lambert. So it’s cool to, you know, cut songs that I wrote with her and then this is the first time we’ve ever done a duet together that we wrote, but we’ve had a long history and it’s kinda fun to do things with old friends and we’ve got a huge band…. we called old friends and everybody up there just to have a big party up there onstage.”
