Megan Moroney brought her newly minted signature pink era to the 59th annual CMA Awards stage on Wednesday (Nov18) night, lighting up the room with her spirited post-breakup anthem “Six Months Later.”
Channeling ultimate slumber party vibes inside Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, Moroney, 28, set a scene unlike anything else. She paid a memorable tribute to the official music video for the song with plenty of bedroom plush, slippers, and a vintage home phone, portraying a fun-girls night look. Keeping folks engaged, Moroney sparkled in her robe before showcasing her glam with a sparkly mini-dress as shown in the TikTok video below. She doled out the details of devastating heartbreak before sharing how she was able to turn the tables on an ex-boyfriend.

“Six Months Later” is one of two tracks Moroney has shared ahead of the release of her forthcoming album, Cloud 9, due out on Feb. 20. She also previously dropped “Beautiful Things.” Written alongside Ben Williams, David “Messy” Mescon, and Rob Hatch, “Six Months Later” offers a glimpse into what fans can expect from her upcoming full-length debut, which finds her more confident and self-assured than ever before.
Moroney won the 2024 CMA Award trophy for Best New Artist, but this time around, she’s tied for the leading number of CMA nominations, with six nods in total. She is in the running for CMA Single of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year for Am I Okay?, Music Video of the Year for “Am I Okay?” Female Vocalist of the Year, and Musical Event of the Year for her collaboration with Kenny Chesney, “You Had To Be There.”
Megan Moroney Recalled Her 2024 CMA Award For Best New Artist
Earlier this week, Moroney, who attended this year's show with Chesney, reflected on her 2024 CMA Award win.
In a statement, she said, “So many amazing things have happened ... it just makes me emotional, honestly…it felt like an out-of-body experience. But it’s just amazing…I did sleep with my CMA Award last year. I tucked it in. I have this Instagram that’s for my fans. It’s kind of a private account, and I posted it on there. But, yeah. I slept with it and now it resides in my room. It’s got prime real estate on the shelf.”
Hosted by Lainey Wilson, the 2025 CMA Awards took place on Wednesday, November 19, at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
