Ryan broke into the entertainment world in the early 80s, appearing on shows like As the World Turns and Wild Side before starring in one of her most popular films to date; When Harry Met Sally. Over the years, Ryan's starred in dozens of TV shows and movies, becoming an icon in her own right.
Ryan hasn't acted in anything since 2023 — and took an 8-year hiatus prior.
"I took a giant break because I felt like there's just so many other parts of my experience as a human being I wanted to develop," she told People magazine in an interview published in October 2023.
