If the Chicago Bulls were going to snap their five-game skid against the second-best team in the West, they needed some luck.
Things came all the way down to the wire in last night’s 130-127 win for the Bulls in Denver. Despite holding a double-digit advantage heading into the fourth quarter, Nikola Jokic and Co. were able to steal reclaim the lead with 2:19 left to go. This led to quite the anxiety-inducing finale, as the two sides exchanged buckets until Ayo Dosunmu’s fastbreak dunk was followed by a Nikola Vucevic three to put the Bulls up 126-122 with 33.0 seconds left on the clock.
On the next trip down the floor, Jokic took matters into his own hands and eventually nailed a layup to bring Denver back within one and force the Bulls’ timeout. However, according to the Last Two Minute Report, this critical possession should have gone a whole lot differently.
Missed Call Helps Chicago Bulls Seal Win
The NBA’s Last Two Minute Report caught only one mistake down the stretch of the Chicago Bulls’ tight victory. With just under 30 seconds left to go, officials now say Kevin Huerter should have been called for a defensive three-second violation on the possession following Vucevic’s three.
If you watch the tape, the foul is pretty darn obvious. A bouncing Huerter can be seen standing right in the middle of the paint, actively defending no one.
Bulls got a stroke of luck in final seconds of last night’s win in Denver. Only one incorrect call made in Last Two Minute Report. Kevin Huerter should have been called for defensive three seconds with under 30secs to go.Would have been technical and the ball for DEN down 4.
— Bleacher Nation Bulls (@bn-bulls.bsky.social) 2025-11-18T23:31:09.840ZOf course, if the refs called this one correctly, it would have meant a technical free throw for the Nuggets AND the ball back. This means they could have gone for the three-point possession to bring things within one or the four-point possession to tie things up. Keep in mind, Jamal Murray also came back down the floor and drained a three after the intentionally fouled Dosunmu to make it 128-127.
I know … shoulda, coulda, woulda. This isn’t the first time the Last Two Minute Report has worked for or against the Bulls, and it sure won’t be the last this season. Still, when things are as close as they were last night, this serves as a good reminder that every call (or no-call) counts!
