From my perspective, we’re all multi-passionate individuals, with several facets and interests that make us feel like our fullest, truest selves. Whether your personal flavor of fun is poring over spreadsheets or balancing complicated budgets, or you take a more creative approach to this shared journey called life that we’re all a part of, there are so many different versions of yourself that you can be. You can wake up one day and decide to be a dancer or completely trade your career as a sales exec to become a full-time pineapple farmer. One day, you can choose to butter your bread on one side, and the next, the other. We have free will and at any given moment the ability to decide to live life on our own terms, no matter what boxes people might try to shuffle us into.
While it can be a complicated philosophy to adopt at times, we see it in those who inspire us to be more and use them as lanterns to light our path forward toward becoming. Trusted advisors, friends, and even celebrities can all show up for us in ways that make it clear that we can be and do anything. Celebs in particular are often tasked with the impossible weight of being everything and then some, becoming totems for us to look to shape our own goals, aspirations, and even opinions. It’s why we hang onto every word Beyoncé says or try to decipher the hidden messages hiding in Taylor Swift’s art.

Even seeing a celebrity make major career moves and life announcements can influence us to do the same, and these days it seems like celebrities have more pots on the stove than ever before. Whether that looks like starting a new alcohol or clothing line, investing in a major company, or simply building yet another billion-dollar brand, celebrities are the ultimate example of being multi-hyphenates and unafraid to try something new. Grammy-winning artist Victoria Monet, for example, just shared an unexpected career update that has fans calling her a “multi-facted queen.”

Victoria Monet Joins Teyana Taylor in Making a Tasty New Career Move
And just in case you were worried that this new venture would mean a break from the stage, Victoria made sure to ease any concerns by saying, “And I promise I am in the studio every day, still cooking my album! I will show you how my days are laid out soon! ?” We love a multi-hyphenate queen! Almost immediately, the comments section was flooded with praise and congratulations for Victoria’s new journey. “We love a side quest!! ???,” said one fan. “???? love love loooove,” commented someone else. A few people even suggested that, in addition to an album, the Alright singer should think about releasing a cookbook.
Victoria Monet also joins her peer Teyana Taylor in taking this exciting new step towards becoming a certified chef, and we can’t wait to see where this takes either of them. Maybe we’ll get a joint cookbook and an album in the near future. Here’s hoping! Wherever the journey takes them, let this be a reminder that you, too, can do anything you set your mind to. With that, I leave you with a quote from another legendary multi-hyphenate, Oprah Winfrey: “You don’t become what you want, you become what you believe.”
