Who doesn’t love free food? It’s even better when you can score it regularly. Whether you actually need it or not, free food is always a treat—one nobody would ever judge you for saying yes to. And with the holidays just around the corner, the word “free” carries extra weight, often drawing plenty of eager attention from all walks of life.
This week, QDOBA is launching the Turkey Trot Challenge, inviting runners nationwide to dress up as a QDOBA burrito for a chance to win free burritos for a year, plus a free burrito added to their QDOBA Rewards account. Runners are encouraged to get creative with their costumes, leaving one big question to ask—are you willing to participate for a shot at the prize?

View this post on InstagramThe rules are simple: Dress up in a QDOBA burrito costume (homemade or store-bought) for any Thanksgiving turkey trot taking place on November 27, 2025. From there, you’ll want to take a picture of yourself in costume at your local Thanksgiving turkey trot race. Post that photo on Instagram with hashtag #QDOBA_Giveaway, and tag @qdoba to secure your entry.
There is one important note: All participants must be QDOBA Rewards members and follow QDOBA on Instagram to qualify. Fans can join QDOBA Rewards at any time by visiting QDOBA.com or through the official mobile app. There’s even a little extra incentive for new members—just for signing up, you’ll receive free queso and chips to redeem with your next purchase.
Lastly, the race doesn’t need to be officially called a “turkey trot” to qualify. Whether it’s a turkey trot, gobble wobble or a standard half marathon doesn’t matter. Just participate in any community race on Thanksgiving Day, and you’ll be good to go.

Simply by participating and dressing up as a QDOBA burrito, runners will receive a free burrito entree reward delivered directly to their Rewards account. “Turkey trots bring communities together in a special way. At QDOBA, we're passionate about doing the same over our bold, delicious flavors," Jon Burke, Chief Marketing Officer at QDOBA said in a press release. "This year, we're excited to join the two together and celebrate a beloved Thanksgiving tradition with our QDOBA Turkey Trot Challenge that fans across the country can partake with family and friends – near or far. And when tired of turkey leftovers, they can enjoy a delicious burrito individually customized for their taste, complete with free guac and queso!"
In addition to the nationwide contest, QDOBA is bringing the festivities to life at Denver’s 52nd Mile High United Way Turkey Trot by distributing QDOBA-branded foil blankets in the Finish Village to help warm runners after their race. Runners not in costume can still join the Turkey Trot Challenge by wrapping themselves in QDOBA’s foil blankets, mimicking the iconic QDOBA burrito wrap.
