ROMULUS, N.Y. — A 17-year-old is facing charges after the Seneca County Sheriff says the teen had a rifle in his car while on school grounds.
The sheriff says on Monday, the school resource officer at Romulus Central School District was told a rifle was in a car in the parking lot on campus.
The school district and the sheriff’s office worked to find out this was an isolated incident and there were no threats to students or facility.
The 17-year-old was charged with criminal possession of a weapon on school grounds, and was processed and released to a parent.
