On Monday night, the David Geffen Hall in New York City lit up with a star-studded event showcasing the cast’s red carpet looks. From Ariana Grande’s tulle ball gown to Cynthia Erivo’s custom Balenciaga look, stars delivered show-stopping glamour that had fans and fashion critics talking.

In the upcoming sequel, the Crazy Rich Asian star reprised her role as the villain, Madame Morrible. She was Shiz University’s headmistress of Crage Hall and a cohort of The Wizard.
During her appearance on the TODAY show, Yeoh described her character as a mentor and nurturer who became the “master manipulator” of Elphaba, Glinda and the Oz.
Savannah Guthrie mentioned a hilarious moment between Yeoh and Grande during the filming of Wicked: For Good.
“You scared Ariana Grande so much her contact lens popped out,” the host recalled.
The award-winning actress revealed that she was advised by the director, Jon M. Chu, to “scare the hell out of Glinda cause how dare she speak back to Madam Morrible.”
“I said, ‘Okay, I’m going to do it” she told the director and even praised the singer-actress for how “adorable” she was at the time.
Moreover, she also recalled how emotionally charged the scene was.
“It was so intense that when she plopped down and I saw a big tear, I thought, ‘Well done, girl!’” she said, adding that her co-star was incredibly apologetic throughout the scene.
The second part of Wicked is set to hit theaters on Friday, Nov. 21.
