For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
South Carolina Swim Club’s Grace Marsaa has verbally committed to Virginia Tech University as a part of the Hokies’ 2026 recruiting class.
After careful consideration, I am incredibly excited and blessed to announce my commitment to Virginia Tech! I’d like to thank my family, friends, and coaches for their unwavering support throughout this journey. And thank you to the coaching staff at Virginia Tech for believing in me and giving me this tremendous opportunity! GO HOKIES!
Marsaa hails from Summerville, S.C., and represents Ashley Ridge High School. In her high school career, Marsaa has already accumulated three South Carolina 5A D1 Championship titles. Most recently in her senior season, Marsaa won both the 50 freestyle (24.32) and 100 breaststroke (1:02.82) in mid-October. Her 50 free marked a new best time, while her 100 breast swim was just slower than her PB from a week earlier of 1:02.12.
A year earlier, Marsaa notched her first South Carolina 5A title with her win in the 100 breast, turning in a final time of 1:04.96.
Marsaa set numerous lifetime bests during her final high school season. In early September, she swam her fastest ever 100 butterfly (57.89) and 200 free (1:54.93). Two weeks later, Marsaa swam her fastest 100 free (53.88) and 200 IM (2:10.05).
Best Times SCY:
100 Breast: 1:02.12 50 Free: 24.32 100 Free: 53.88 200 Free: 1:54.93 200 IM: 2:10.05 200 Breast: 2:26.27The Virginia Tech women finished 9th at the 2025 ACC Swimming and Diving Championships.
Based on Marsaa’s best times, she would have qualified for the ‘C’ final in the 100 breast, 63rd in the 200 IM, and 86th in the 100 free.
The clear strength is her 100 breast. With her current best, she is just within range to be a point scorer in a deep ACC.
It seems likely the 50 free will be her #2 event alongside the 100 breast, but her #3 event is unclear, it is worth y to note that she hasn’t lowered her 200 breast best time since 2023 (2:26.27).
She could be a future suitor for the breaststroke leg of relays, with her fastest flat start split sitting at 28.89.
Marsaa joins Siena Santos, Alexandra Hrnčárová, Lydia Cameron, Eliza Osada, Bianca Nannucci, and Ally Vernon in the Hokies’ 2026 recruiting class.
