The Blackhawks have two very busy weeks coming up, and it’s a noteworthy time on the calendar. As I’ve mentioned before, there has long been a school of belief in the NHL that teams in a playoff spot on US Thanksgiving have a great chance of making the postseason. Right now, the Western Conference is a gong show with teams underwhelming all over the place. The Blackhawks are not among those teams.
The Blackhawks have seven games in 12 days, beginning with the NHL-worst Calgary Flames in Chicago on Tuesday night. Six of the seven games are at the United Center. And four of the seven are against teams below the Blackhawks in the standings (as of Sunday night). The Blackhawks could position themselves nicely before they begin December with a four-game trip to the West Coast.
In his first six Blackhawks games this season, Oliver Moore is learning he really is fast enough to blow past most NHL competition.Against the Devils, he passed up a potential breakaway opportunity. Against the Leafs, he did not.New story: t.co/eT6Cxl1vZ5
— Ben Pope (@BenPopeCST) November 16, 2025 We’ll stick with the rookies and take a moment to celebrate the run Artyom Levshunov is on right now. The Blackhawks shared that he is the fastest rookie defenseman to reach 10 assists in a season. Levshunov leads all NHL rookies with 10 assists.hello you are formally invited to our Arty party pic.twitter.com/2MkIHzMo54
— Chicago Blackhawks (@NHLBlackhawks) November 16, 2025 There was some unfortunate confusion on the Twitters on Sunday when Nick Lardis wasn’t in the IceHogs’ lineup for their game last night. Which could have been avoided if looking at the previous tweet had happened. Lardis got banged up on Saturday night and was a precautionary scratch on Sunday. He was not scratched because of a call-up.Nick Lardis is day-to-day and will not play in today’s game. : t.co/lkvXtu3lCa pic.twitter.com/at6CZAAZSi
— Rockford IceHogs (@goicehogs) November 16, 2025 The LA Kings took another big name off the potential free agent class of 2026 on Sunday. They signed forward Adrian Kempe to an eight-year extension with a $10.625M AAV. I wrote about the long list of injuries around the NHL on Sunday morning. We can add another, and it’s unfortunately a familiar name that’s been hurt too frequently. The Montreal Canadiens announced Kirby Dach (fractured foot) will be out for 4 to 6 weeks.BLEACHER NATION: Go Ad Free | Subscribe to the BN Newsletter
