Brooke Williamson stars on multiple Food Network shows, is a mom to a 17-year-old, and is in a high-profile relationship with chef Bobby Flay, so she knows what it's like to juggle a lot around the holiday season. Luckily, she shared her pro tips for keeping Thanksgiving and the holidays as stress-free as possible, exclusively with Parade.
"I think people underestimate how much work goes into preparing Thanksgiving dinner... that's why Thanksgiving often feels very chaotic at the last minute," the Bobby's Triple Threat titan explained in an exclusive interview in November 2025 while discussing her holiday partnership with Modern Recipe by Sodexo. "One way to avoid that chaos is just prepping the day before, and the day before that."

Not everything needs to come fresh out of the oven, she said. "Stuffing can be made in advance and often tastes better if it's been sitting for a day or two," said Williamson. "The [Chestnut Mushroom Holiday Rice from my cookbook] can definitely be made the day before." Even those that can't be made ahead can be prepped, "even just cutting apples or vegetables, and having as much ready-to-go the day before as possible," she said.

The BBQ Brawl star stays focused on what the holidays are all about, and insists that prepping will allow you more time to do what you really want, whether that's "enjoying your family or hiding in the kitchen and drinking your mimosa watching TV by yourself."

She also prefers to skip the big breakfast or complicated brunch on holidays to save time, effort, and stomach space. "I like to keep it light for breakfast," she said. "I do think that the Thanksgiving meal should be the star of the day. You should have a relatively empty stomach going into that meal."
And don't be afraid to let the guests help out, too. "If you're hosting and you're preparing the entire meal from a savory standpoint, dole out dessert," she said. "I think the go-to is to [tell guests to] bring a bottle of wine or something easy, but if somebody's offering, put them to work. Let them take pride in making dessert and being a part of Thanksgiving. I think that bringing everyone together and sharing the workload is totally okay to do."

Williamson is no stranger to lots of travel, and shared her advice for keeping everything afloat without going crazy. "I try not to think too far ahead," she said. "I try to stay organized. I try to offer love and warmth and home wherever I am. And with my son, whether that be at home or traveling with him, just put one foot in front of the other. It’s one day at a time. I try not to get overwhelmed by my surroundings, even if I don’t know where I’ll be tomorrow."
