On Facebook, Dukes of Hazzard star John Schneider — who competed on season 27 with Bones — posted a blistering message reacting to Bones’ emotional video and his decision to return his Mirrorball Trophy to ABC.
Beside a lengthy statement, he wrote directly to Bones: “Stop your whining, Bobby Bones.”
“Tom Bergeron wasn’t the only one who was surprised that night. You could hear a collective gasp in the room that I honestly thought you were part of. (I thought it was quite wonderful that you looked as genuinely surprised as any of us, including Tom. I guess I was wrong.) I’m not sure what was a bigger surprise… that you won or that you made it past the first night with your antics," wrote Schneider.

He added, "We all know Milo should’ve won anyway. As far as I could see, the judges kissed your butt all the way up and down Main Street because you had the other show with ABC. I never witnessed a single moment of unfair treatment coming your way… It’s not attractive to try to scratch out another 3 seconds of fame by defaming one of the classier organizations on network television. Shame on you.
"It’s embarrassing when the ‘winner’ cries in his or her cornflakes. Have the class to either hide your award away in a closet somewhere… send it to Milo… or have the dignity to remain quiet.”
In the comments section, he doubled down:

The renewed controversy erupted on November 12, when Bones posted a TikTok reacting to Bergeron’s recent Parade interview. In it, Bergeron called Bones’ win the most shocking moment of his 28 seasons — comments Bones said were “hurtful.”
Bones also revealed he had returned his Mirrorball Trophy to ABC, saying he no longer felt welcomed by the show. Bergeron later apologized, posting a screenshot of his message to Bones acknowledging that his “ouch” comment may have hurt him.
