Loveland’s Arrow is Pointing Up, Odunze’s Resurgence, Wrigley Field Walk-Off, and Other Bears Bullets

Happy Sunday, Bears fans! We’ve seen growth from Chicago’s football team since the last time it played the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1. Soon, we’ll see if this team can take what it has learned in the 69 days and put it toward what would be a nice Week 11 victory on the road.

The Bears playing a game on Sunday at US Bank Stadium (which Bears President Kevin Warren had a hand in building) reminds me that it has been a while since we have received an update from the team about its stadium plans for the Arlington Park property. Our last bit of news regarding the project was about the stadium renderings. Don’t get me wrong. The stadium illustrations are nice, but a progress report would be better. Sunday’s chess match between Bears quarterback Caleb Williams and Vikings Defensive Coordinator Brian Flores should be fun. Minnesota blitzes at the second-highest rate in football (43.1 percent), but Chicago’s QB1 has a 119.2 passer rating when blitzed. There is a bunch of fun game-within-the-game stuff that will take place on Sunday. (Tribune) Bears center Drew Dalman will have a lot on his plate on Sunday as he helps aid Caleb Williams with blitz protections. No wonder he is on Marquee’s list of players to watch in Week 11. I enjoyed watching this snippet from Dalman talking about his relationship with his starting quarterback and what it is like to be part of a successful offensive line:

The O-Line is gelling and Drew Dalman is at the center of it all

    — Chicago Bears (@ChicagoBears) November 15, 2025 The Bears offensive line holds steady at No. 7 in Pro Football Focus’ weekly rankings. Meanwhile, ESPN’s metrics have Bears ranking second in Pass Block Win Rate and fourth in Run Block Win Rate. This group has played well for most of the year. Let’s see if it can hold up again in Week 11. Rookie tight end Colston Loveland is averaging five targets per game in his last four games. That feels notable. His numbers in those games: 16 receptions, 235 yards, 2 touchdowns. Extrapolate those stats over a full 17-game schedule, and you’re looking at 85 targets, 68 catches, 998 yards, and 14 touchdowns. Small samples are fun. And while I’m not sure Loveland can keep that pace up, it looks like he could be in a position to keep the good times rolling against a Vikings defense that Yahoo notes has allowed the 11th-most fantasy points to tight ends. It’s a weird hunch, but after seeing Colston Loveland Michigan jerseys sprinkled around Lakeview on Saturday, I think the former Wolverines standout finds the end zone at some point on Sunday. It was nice to see Rome Odunze snag 10 targets, haul in 6 catches, post 86 receiving yards, and score a touchdown in the Bears’ Week 10 win against the Giants. Watching a player bounce back from being blanked one week by putting up a strong showing in the very next game is encouraging to see. Odunze caught 6 of 9 targets for 37 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 against the Vikings. I think he will be targeted early and often in the Week 11 rematch. Because you care: Odunze is on a 17-game pace of 130 targets, 69 receptions, 1,055 yards, and 11 touchdowns. Mandatory Credit: Mike Dinovo-Imagn Images A fun anecdote from ESPN’s Courtney Cronin, who gets Bears receiver DJ Moore to compare the evolution of Chicago’s offense to the process of making Jell-O (via Twitter/X):

The Bears were in the hot water phase during training camp where “we were getting burned.” They transitioned to the “cooling” phase when the Jell-O goes into the refrigerator to set at the beginning of the season and are now at a strong consistency. “We all know where everybody going to be. We just in this together.”

Moore clarified the flavor of the Jell-O is cherry.

I wasn’t expecting cornerback Jaylon Johnson to play in Week 11. But after the Bears listed him as questionable on the Friday injury report, downgrading him to out on Saturday became a newsworthy story. Traditionally, a “questionable” designation meant a player had a 50-50 chance to play. More recently, players listed as questionable means they are “uncertain” to play. Do you understand why we did the post we did? Or are you just being stubborn for funsies? This bit of reporting from ESPN’s Stephania Bell from 2016 (which is the last time the NFL switched up its injury report langauge) is informative and worth knowing for future reference. Sorry, Northwestern fans. But Michigan’s walk-off field goal landing on Sheffield Avenue was the coolest thing I saw yesterday:

    — Bleacher Nation Bears (@BN_Bears) November 15, 2025 My favorite fact about Sunday’s Lions-Eagles matchup is that it will pit Dan Campbell against Nick Sirianni, who are the only two head coaches who were hired during the 2021 offseason cycle remaining with the team that hired them in the first place. David Culley (Texans), Urban Meyer (Jaguars), Robert Saleh (Jets), Arthur Smith (Falcons), and Brandon Staley (Chargers) have since been dismissed from their respective head-coaching gigs. If you are looking for something else to root for today, here’s this: A Bears win against the Vikings and a Lions loss to the Eagles would put the Bears alone in first place atop the NFC North. Sure, the Bears and Eagles square off in a few weeks on Black Friday. But a weekend alliance would be beneficial for both teams. Perhaps it will be easier to root for Philly after watching the Eagles beat the Packers on Monday Night Football to wrap up Week 10.
