How does Samuel L. Jackson's appearance set up the Tulsa King spinoff?
Russell is sent to Tulsa to do a job for Ray (James Russo). The job? To get rid of Dwight Manfredi once and for all. Ray is well aware that Russell knows Dwight from the joint, which makes the killing sweeter for Ray. Unbeknownst to him, Russell is loyal to those who have saved him, and he has Dwight's back. Upon arriving in Tulsa, he flat-out tells Dwight what he's there for and the two hatch a plan to turn the tables on Ray and the Dunmires, but will they succeed?
Russell confesses he's looking to get out of his current line of work and starts asking Ray about his business. He's looking for a new line of work and is impressed by what Dwight has set up for himself. This sets up Jackson for his own spinoff series, NOLA King.
NOLA King is slated to begin production in February 2026.

No official date has been announced for NOLA King, but we're likely looking at a late 2026 or early 2027 premiere.
