A group of burglars smashed a stolen vehicle into a business in Chicago’s Humbolt Park and stole clothes and shoes before fleeing, surveillance video released by police showed.
Chicago police released an alert Saturday notifying the community of two recent burglary incidents to retail establishments in Garfield Park and Humboldt Park in which suspects drove a stolen vehicle through the front of a business to gain entry.
Once inside, the suspects take clothing and shoes before fleeing in the stolen vehicle, authorities said.
Around 4:48 a.m. on Nov. 9, a smash-and-grab burglary occurred at a business on the 4000 block of West Madison Street in Chicago’s Garfield Park neighborhood.
The following day, around 4 a.m. on Nov. 10, a smash-and-grab burglary occurred at a business on the 800 block of North Kedzie Avenue in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood.
The burglary on North Kedzie was caught on surveillance video that was released by police in the alert.
A stolen vehicle was crashed into the glass entry of the store and two people entered the store, then shortly after a large van pulled up and a group of seven people exited the van and entered the store, video showed.
Police describe the suspects as Black males between the age of 15 to 19 years old, between 110 to 150 pounds and wearing all black with black masks.
