November 14-15, 2025 Ocala, FL SCY Championship format Results on Meet Mobile as “2025 FHSAA Swimming & Diving Championships-4A”Only a junior, Rylee Erisman of Windermere High School broke Gretchen Walsh‘s five-year old National High School record with a 46.73 in the 100 free today at Florida’s 4A State Championships.
Walsh, who went on to break numerous records while swimming for the University of Virginia, had been the fastest high school competitor ever after going 46.98 at the 2020 Tennessee state championships.
Traditionally, organizations have tracked separate records for public and independent (private) schools. Walsh will retain the independent school record while Erisman will hold the public school record, having also gone under Abbey Weitzeil‘s mark of 47.09 from 2015. Functionally, though, Erisman’s swim is the fastest-ever in high school competition.
Despite setting a high school record, Erisman was actually just a bit off her best time, a 46.69 she swam at last year’s Junior Nationals while representing her club team, the Windermere Lakers. That time stands as the 15-16 National Age Group record. This summer, she set the NAG record in the 100m freestyle, and collected eight medals at the Junior World Championships.
Erisman won all four events she contested today, helping Windermere to a runner-up finish behind Riverview Sarasota. First, Erisman anchored the 200 medley in 21.51, helping Windermere to a time of 1:38.96 to win the event by over four seconds. Next, she clocked a 21.67 in the 50 free, just off the 21.61 she swam last year to set the national public school record. After her individual 100 free, she closed out the day by once again anchoring a Windermere relay to victory. This time, she split 47.48 as Windermere won in 3:19.16, over six seconds ahead of Riverview Saratoga.
