ROCHESTER, N.Y. – We ended the work week on a high note with some sun and dry weather, and we’ll keep that theme going to start the weekend. Saturday morning will be dry with some breaks of sun, but clouds thicken up pretty quickly. A warm front lifting through will bring scattered showers to the area by early to mid afternoon. A few rumbles of thunder are possible, as well. Temperatures will climb into the lower to even mid 50s by early evening ahead of the cold front. That cold front swings through by early Sunday morning, taking away the steadiest rain, but also the mildest air. Sunday will drop into the upper 30s and lower 40s. A few rain showers will begin to mix with some snow showers, but most of the moisture is stripped away before the coldest air moves in.
Winds will ramp up with the cooler air, and we’ll see some gusts 30-40 mph on Sunday out of the northwest. Some lake flakes will develop, but should be fairly minor, with little accumulation expected. The Bills game will be a chillier one, with a gusty wind at times and perhaps an occasional snow shower.
Monday will remain on the cool side with temperatures in the 30s and a few more lake snow showers. Any accumulation should be minor, with less than an inch or two in any location. Then we’ll quiet things down for a few days with some returning by Wednesday of next week.
