I wasn’t expecting Jaylon Johnson’s return to the practice field at Halas Hall to make quite the plot twist omn Friday’s Chicago Bears injury report update.
But then again, I love a good surprise.
Johnson has been on injured reserve since suffering a groin injury in Week 2 against the Detroit Lions. The Bears laid out the path to Johnson returning this season by opening his 21-day practice window earlier on Friday. And while I was expecting a return (perhaps after exhausting the full 21-days of practice) down the line, that Jaylon Johnson is listed as questionable to play in Chicago’s Week 11 game against the Minnesota Vikings is an eye-opening development. This comes after Johnson was listed as a limited participant in Friday’s practice. Again, this is one whale of a plot twist.

Linebacker T.J. Edwards (hand, hamstring) missed a third consecutive practice this week and has been ruled out for Sunday’s game. Edwards had surgery to repair a broken hand last week and has been dealing with a hamstring injury, to boot. The Bears will miss his presence in the middle of their defense for a second consecutive week. Safety Jaquan Brisker (back) saw an upgrade on the Friday Bears injury report. That is a welcome bit of news. Brisker, who missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday, was a limited participant on Friday. The Penn State product is listed as questionable to play.
