Wicked actress Marissa Bode stood up for her costar Ariana Grande after a man rushed her at the Wicked: For Good premiere in Singapore on Nov. 13.
Bode, who portrays Nessarose Thropp in the Wicked films, posted a TikTok on Nov. 13 about the incident and spoke out against the actions of the man who made Grande, 32, "feel incredibly unsafe."

"'But they're a fan!' Okay. Then they're a fan and a loser," Bode started out her video as she pushed back against people online who defended the man's actions at the film premiere. She also called out "parasociality... when someone in the public eye is at an event," where people may feel entitled to do things like "throwing s--- [at a singer] on stage mid-performance" for clout.
"Social media brings out the worst in people," she continued. "Oh, did you get your views? Did you get your likes? Guess what you also did? You made somebody feel incredibly unsafe, but just — no remorse. That goes over your head. You're a bad person."
Bode also noted that she believed that anyone, especially women, "should be expected to move with grace or respond with kindness when they've been violated in that way."
"Most of the time, women within the public eye do respond with kindness because they know what the result is going to be if they don't," she noted. "It's gonna be people calling them rude even when their frustration or anger is beyond valid."
During the red carpet premiere of Wicked: For Good in Singapore, a man pushed past photographers and fans behind the barricade and suddenly rushed toward the "Positions" singer.
Video captured by fans on TikTok showed the man suddenly moving towards Grande before her other Wicked costar Cynthia Erivo came to her defense and pushed the man off of her before security arrived.
