Once upon a time, Hallmark Channel was the only network touting a lineup of Christmas-themed rom-coms across the holiday season. Who doesn't love unwinding from a hectic day of holiday gatherings, frenzied mall shoppers, and meal prep with a fun, lighthearted romance with a little Santa and snow thrown in?
The yuletide content became so popular that once other networks and streamers realized its popularity, they soon jumped on the bandwagon. Back in 2017, Netflix took notice and premiered its first original holiday film, A Christmas Prince.

They've since moved away from the light and wholesome fare you'll find on Great American Family and Hallmark Channel to a more light and maybe less innocent lineup for their holiday offerings (though there is still plenty of family-friendly content also). Films like Holidate with Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey and last year's The Merry Gentlemen with Britt Roberts and Chad Michael Murray were popular on the network, likely because they were not family-friendly (Holidate was rated TV-MA, The Merry Gentlemen was rated TV-PG). They were even able to snag away Hallmark fan favorite Lacey Chabert for last year's Hot Frosty.
This year, the streamer offers up five new original movies featuring stars like Minka Kelly, Oliver Hudson, Alicia Silverstone, Alexandra Breckenridge, and Mr. Bean himself, Rowan Atkinson.
