Pebe Sebert is the mother of pop star sensation Kesha and two other children, and an American songwriter. Raised in Tennessee, Sebert was a part of many professional touring groups in high school, then started her songwriting career in the 1970s. With her then-husband, Hugh Moffatt, she wrote "Old Flames Can't Hold a Candle to You" for American country singer Joe Sun for his album Old Flames, which peaked at number 14 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and was covered by Dolly Parton and Kesha years later.
The songwriter has penned many #1 hits for many artists, including Parton, Pitbull, Miranda Cosgrove, Miley Cyrus, Kesha and more. So far, her and her daughter have 11 published songs together, including "Learn to Let Go," "Crazy Beautiful Life," "Cannibal" and "Animal."

"I grew up in the studio, watching my mom turn her life into songs. These moments became stories. These stories are her life," Kesha started off the post. "She wrote an album before I was born. This was the only album she made as an independent artist before focusing her life on raising her children and writing songs for other people."

The new label allows her to have more creative control over her future release, especially after her decade-long battle with previous producer, Dr. Luke.
"I’m so proud to finally release my mom’s debut album on KESHA RECORDS, and I’m so proud of her release today," Kesha concluded the post.
Sebert's debut album will be out on all streaming platforms on Dec. 12. Fans can listen to the lead single "City's Burning" and Kesha's discography on all streaming platforms.
