Every year, Starbies fans and collectibles alike rush to the stores with the excitement of a child on Christmas morning to score a free, reusable cup. Many of whom have marked their calendars weeks prior, setting alarms for the wee hours of the morning to ensure an early start and a successful Starbucks run, resulting in a holiday-favorite menu item and a freebie.
In the true spirit of collectibles (and the season), the design of the cups varies from year to year and this year's version is said to be inspired by a specific "moment of magic" most customers can relate to.
The 2025 Red Cup Day design was drawn by Starbucks designer Yvonne Chen, and it's officially landed in stores.

This year, Starbucks said it's prepared to give away more cups than ever before, which is likely refreshing to hear after the fiasco of the uber-popular Bearista cups that sold out immediately, only for some to be listed on resale websites for hundreds of dollars. While Starbucks has since apologized for not meeting expectations, some fans aren't going to be so quick to forget it (though this year's adorable Red Cup design might just help speed up the forgiveness process).

Starbucks' 2025 Red Cup—a 16-ounce (grande) cup—is made with 95 percent recycled material and features a hand-drawn sketch of a Starbucks store seen from the outside, set against a snowy winter scene.

“The design is inspired by the little moment of magic you feel when you step into a Starbucks from the cold outside,” Chan said of the art in a statement. “With the hand-drawn sketch, I tried to capture the feeling of something crafted by one person for another.”
The cup comes free with customers' orders of any handcrafted holiday or fall beverage of any size—hot, iced, or blended—regardless of how you order (mobile, in-store, or via the drive-thru) at participating stores, while supplies last.
