The Blackhawks’ power play finished the road trip hot and stayed warm, even without André Burakovsky available. The Devils took three penalties in the opening 20 minutes, the second and third coming only 32 seconds apart late in the period. Chicago scored with the two-man advantage to take a one-goal lead to the room.
The Blackhawks played with first for most of the second period and almost escaped. Almost. Simon Nemec was able to deposit a nice little backhander with 14.6 seconds left in the period to tie the game. Officially, shots on goal were 14-4 in favor of the visitors. The Devils had 42-15 Corsi For advantage at 5-on-5 after 40 minutes.
New Jersey continued to push, but the Blackhawks got the first goal of the third period. Unfortunately, the Devils answered off an absolute howitzer from Dawson Mercer. The Blackhawks took another lead, only to have the Devils answer again. If you were fading on this game because it was 11 PM CT, three goals in six minutes of game time certainly helps. Unfortunately, 60 minutes weren’t enough to decide this one.
And, unfortunately, the Devils won it late in OT.
Star 1: Connor Bedard
Bedard skated 8:18 in the first period, put two shots on net and one into the back where it counts. His power play goal in the first period extended his personal point streak to nine games (during which he has 19 points — 8 goals, 11 assists).

I mean… the guy gets almost no ice time in the game. He rarely even gets into the lineup. And he does this??

— BlackhawksFocus (@FocusBlackhawks) November 13, 2025Star 3: Spencer Knight
Knight was exceptional in the second period while the Devils pushed back. He made some impressive saves, including the one below. Knight officially stopped 23 of 24 thru two periods. He officially saved 30 of 33 in regulation. The Devils had a 12-5 advantage in high danger chances at 5-on-5 in regulation. Knight was very good — and he had to be.

Landon Slaggert scored his first of the year on a nice little redirect of a Louis Crevier shot early in the third period. Welcome back!pic.twitter.com/K5gyjbImsN
— BlackhawksFocus (@FocusBlackhawks) November 13, 2025 Crevier had assists on the goals from Slaggert and Lafferty, giving him back-to-back multi-point games at the United Center. Ryan Greene was getting a lot of run against Nico Hischier — one of the better all-around centers in the league — with Timo Meier and Dawson Mercer. Greene won 6 of 7 faceoffs and was credited with one shot on goal, one hit and one blocked shot in 14:07 thru two periods. Oliver Moore‘s speed was once again next level noticeable all night. But his defensive work and his hands were even more impressive than speed that, at times, the Devils really didn’t know how to handle. In the middle of the second period, Moore had the puck and skated up the ice looking around like someone was going to stop him — but nobody did. He’s going to learn that he’s faster than most people even at the NHL level.Oliver Moore with a steal and setup to give Bertuzzi a golden chance pic.twitter.com/9HEedqNYtd
— BHF (@BlackhawksFocus) November 13, 2025 The Devils had a 9-3 shots on goal advantage at the end of the first period at 5-on-5. The Blackhawks had a 12-10 total SOG advantage after 20 minutes. Colton Dach had three loud, heavy hits in the first period. He added two more in the second period Connor Murphy was playing physically all over the ice, and was effectively taking away space from Devils. The first two periods were some of his best work in a while.Murphy gets physical on Jack Hughes to force a turnover pic.twitter.com/fPwfixECDV
— BHF (@BlackhawksFocus) November 13, 2025 Tyler Bertuzzi was the only Blackhawks skater credited with more than two shots on goal thru two periods; he was in the books for four on net in 13:42 on ice. He was credited with an assist on Bedard’s power play goal, giving him nine points (seven goals, two assists) in six games in November. Nick Foligno had two assists in the game. Zack MacEwen got crushed by Murphy during the first period and went to the room immediately. Cody Glass blew a tire late in the first and went into the boards hard and awkwardly. He went to the room with assistance. Glass returned for the start of the second period — briefly. MacEwen did not. Neither was on the bench to start the third period.Hence then, the article about blackhawks 3 devils 4 ot three stars key takeaways was published today ( ) and is available on Bleacher Nation ( Middle East ) The editorial team at PressBee has edited and verified it, and it may have been modified, fully republished, or quoted.
