Carol Burnett, 92, has spent seven decades entertaining fans with her humor and amazing acting talents.
However, that may soon come to an end. Burnett is currently having the time of her life on Palm Royale, but that doesn’t mean retirement isn’t on her mind.

During an interview with Extra, to promote Season 2 of Palm Royale, Burnett was asked if the Apple TV show would be her last acting role.
Burnett confirmed that this will probably be her final on-camera acting gig, joking, "My last hurrah."
“Unless something just unbelievable comes up, I don’t feel that I can top being with Palm Royale,” she expressed. “It started with Better Call Saul when I did that, I thought ‘oh this is really great’, and I knew everybody, and I had a great time."
The comedian went on to add, “Then I got the call from Abe Sylvia to do this, and I said, ‘My goodness, that’s like a cherry on top of the sundae, and I don’t know what would come up that I would really want to do that could be as good as this.”

Ricky Martinand Kristen Wiig were with Burnett during the interview and got choked up by her words. Burnett also explained what it's like to work on a show that she enjoys so much at this stage in her storied career.
"Oh, I’m like a kid in a candy store. You know, as I say, I don’t know for some reason, I think I am like a kid again, playing in the sandbox with some new best friends. I have new best friends now, which I didn’t have before this. I have some old best friends,” the actress spilled, adding, “I couldn’t be happier.”

The actress clearly wants to make sure that her final project before calling it quits and hanging up her acting hat is one that she'll be proud of and that will be a fond memory, surrounded by good people, which is clearly the case.
Season 2 of Palm Royale premiered on Apple TV on November 12, with the first two episodes available to stream. The remaining episodes will be released on Wednesdays until the finale on January 14, 2026.
