A new treat created by Dunkin' has hit store shelves, and customers are raving about it. The chain didn't seem to make any official announcements about the product, but it has been discovered in several different retailers across the country.
Dunkin' has released a Santa-shaped chocolate that is filled with cookie butter creme. According to the Instagram page @SweetStuffMN, it started to get noticed in mid-October.
As Primetimer noted on November 12, it seems the chocolate Santa candy was likely inspired by a seasonal Dunkin' drink that is earning rave reviews: the Cookie Butter Cloud Latte.
Primetimer noted that Dunkin' collaborated with Frankford Candy on this new sweet treat. Frankford has collaborated with several big brands in the past, including KFC, Stranger Things, and Smuckers. In March, the candy brand worked with Dunkin' on jelly beans in flavors of the chain's Refresher drinks. The jelly beans came in lemonade, peach passion fruit, strawberry dragonfruit, and raspberry watermelon flavors.
The candy brand's website shows several other previous Dunkin' collaborations, including hot chocolate bomb packs, ice coffee flavored jelly beans, and donut-flavored filled chocolates.
AllRecipes notes that the Dunkin' Santa treats are individually wrapped. So far, there are indications that the treat has been spotted at retailers such as Walmart, Five Below, Walgreens, and Dollar General.
One Instagram content creator shared that he picked up a "hint of gingerbread" flavoring and suggested, "The creme inside is delicious."
Another Instagram user gushed, "These are sooooo good."
Someone else shared in an Instagram post, "If you're a fan of Biscoff or any kind of cookie butter spread, this is the candy for you." They added, "There's definitely more cookie butter than chocolate in each bite, and I'm all for it."
Instagram content creator Snack Time Tommy raved that the cookie butter creme "melts faster than your willpower in front of a donut display." He added that there is "Holiday spirit in every bite!"
