In honor of Veteran's Day, Carrie Underwood took to Instagram to thank those who have served in the military.
"Throwing it back this Veterans Day. Thank you to all that have served for your courage and dedication in protecting our freedom," the American Idol winner captioned a post on Tuesday, Nov. 11.
Along with her message, the country music star also shared a photo of her meeting with troops on a USO Tour in 2006. Underwood received a lot of positive feedback from fans, but there were also some fans who weren't thrilled about the post. Moreover, these fans seem to be holding a grudge against Underwood after she performed at Donald Trump's inauguration earlier this year.
"Lost all respect for Carrie Underwood," one person wrote.
"Don't you mean thanks for invading other countries? Sorry don't mean to be a downer but it's true," someone else said.
"Trump cut thousands of jobs at the VA, cut SNAP and TANF benefits that veterans depend on, closed enrollment for VA's program to prevent veteran foreclosures, destaffed the suicide prevention hotline, cut medical research at the VA, and cut Medicaid," a third comment read.
"They don't actually care about veterans lol. That's just for PR and to pander to her right wing base. It's ok," a fourth Instagram user added.
Underwood upset some of her fanbase when she seemingly took a side in the political world by agreeing to sing "America the Beautiful" at Trump's inauguration on January 20. Many of those people decided to boycott Underwood by unfollowing her on social media, for example. The backlash didn't seem to bother the "Before He Cheats" singer, who released a statement sharing her take after she was announced as a performer at the event.
"I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event," she said in a statement, according to ABC News. "I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future."
Underwood hasn't made mention of Trump or her performance since.
