CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. — Veterans from across the community gathered at Rose Tavern for a special Veterans Day dinner hosted by The Lake House on Canandaigua. The private event featured a family-style meal, camaraderie, and a celebration of service.
Canandaigua Mayor Bob Palumbo attended the event to recognize each veteran.
“It’s a special day where we recognize all the veterans across the country. We just want to do our small part here at The Lake House,” said James McGinn, hotel manager and a veteran himself.
“Just by greeting a veteran who might have fought in a war, it just means so much, and it’s just a very emotional day,” McGinn added.
This was the first event of its kind at The Lake House, but plans are in the works to make it an annual event.
