Disney Christens Its Newest Ship, Disney Destiny—See the First Photos

Disney fans were treated to a dazzling aerial show last night at the christening of Disney Destiny, the newest ship in Disney Cruise Line’s fleet, at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The “Heroes and Villains”–themed vessel celebrates the art of duality, featuring beloved characters from 101 Dalmatians, Black Panther, The Lion King, Hercules, Marvel and more.

Hundreds of thousands of drones lit up the sky in a stunning aerial display, forming epic scenes of Disney’s most iconic heroes and villains—all set to a rousing mashup medley of beloved Disney theme songs. Susan Egan, who voiced Megara in Disney’s 1997 animated classic Hercules, was on hand to christen the new ship as its godmother.
