Trader Joe’s Shoppers Just Learned What’s Really Inside This Popular Dessert

It’s no secret that Trader Joe’s desserts are top-tier. The prep is minimal and most taste restaurant-worthy.

However, one dessert in particular — TJ’s limited edition tiramisu — has caught some shopper’s attention for the hefty amount of caffeine per serving. And while some think caffeine content in a tiramisu may seem obvious, others are debating whether or not it’s a little too much.

“In case you were wondering, each serving of their frozen Tiramisu has .17g or 170mg of caffeine per serving! (around 1.5-2 cups of coffee worth) I made the mistake of eating one at 8 pm and forgot that coffee has caffeine in it,” one Redditor wrote on r/TraderJoe’s. It’s safe to say the post sparked a ton of replies from other Trader Joe’s dessert connoisseurs.

“170mg is quite a bit. For all people saying ‘tiramisu has coffee powder, what’d you expect,’ that’s quite a bit of caffeine still and I personally would’ve guessed they were using decaf espresso powder,” one replied. They later updated their post with some research, saying, “Edit: google told me a single serving of tiramisu has 40-60mg of caffeine. This is over double that!”

Another joked, “So what you’re telling me is I need to eat one at 2 pm.”

“Oh gosh, as a pregnant lady I appreciate the heads up,” one woman noted.READ MORE: 10 Trader Joe’s Side Dishes That Are Perfect For Thanksgiving
