ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Local lake snows will continue off and on Tuesday morning. Conditions should begin to improve after midday and our Threat Tracker will go from Yellow to Green later today. Plows and salt trucks have been out, and most main roads are treated and just wet, but watch for snow and ice covered secondary roads. Also watch your step on the driveway, sidewalk and in any parking lots. Additional snowfall will range from a coating to an inch for most of us to couple or three inches for a few towns east and west of Rochester. As temps ease above freezing this afternoon the snow and ice threat will end.
Looking ahead to Wednesday a few more snow and rain showers will pass by the region, but no significant accumulations are expected. One thing to watch will be west of Rochester first thing in the morning for a little slushy snow. Rain showers will pass by at times Wednesday into Thursday. Temps remain well below normal into the start of the weekend. Stay tuned to News10NBC for the latest updates on the lake snow and cold.
