BROCKPORT, N.Y. — After multiple delays, The Brockport lift bridge officially reopened on Monday afternoon.
A day many have been waiting for, the reopening comes two and a half years after the bridge initially closed for construction. The project first started in May of 2023, and was set to open in September 2024.
Now, a year and some change after the original opening date, the Village of Brockport opened it’s new and improved lift bridge. The closure disrupted vehicle traffic and diminished foot traffic, a common complaint from nearby businesses.
