Denver Broncos linebacker Alex Singleton reveals he had surgery for testicular cancer ...Middle East

The Denver Broncos will be without linebacker Alex Singleton for a few weeks after he revealed on Monday that he underwent surgery on Friday after finding out he had testicular cancer.

Singleton found out about the diagnosis after he submitted a sample for a random NFL Drug Test. That drug test revealed that his hCG levels were elevated, leading him to go to see urologist Dr. Andrew Zilavy. That meeting revealed a testicular tumor, which Singleton had surgery on Friday, following the Broncos 10-7 win on Thursday Night Football against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Singleton revealed the news in Monday morning’s team meeting.

I shared this news with our team this morning.

I’m grateful for everyone’s support and can’t wait to get back on the field soon!

“I shared with my teammates and coaches that I underwent successful surgery on Friday for testicular cancer after being diagnosed last week,” Singleton said. “Thankfully we believe the cancer was caught early with a great prognosis for me and my family. While we are still awaiting some additional test results, I fully expect to return to the field in the coming weeks.”

The most important thing is that Singleton caught it early and that he’s going to be okay. In a conference call with the media on Monday afternoon, Singleton said that the CT scan before he had surgery showed that the cancer hadn’t spread.

Denver will find a way to manage on the field during his absence, with Dre Greenlaw and Justin Strnad set to start at linebacker on defense while he’s recovering.

Singleton shared a more important message after his diagnosis.

“If we can get the word out to get everybody screened and checked, don’t be afraid of the doctor. Because I was for a long time.”
