The lady Boilermakers of Purdue stood tall at home, claiming 11 event wins on their way to victory over Big Ten counterpart Iowa, 190-109 in West Lafayette.

    Purdue was led by junior Caitlin Hurley, senior Reagan Mattice, and senior Abby Marcukaitis led the way for the Boilermakers, as they extended their season record to 4-0 and have now won 10 consecutive dual meets.

    The Boilermakers opened the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay behind Marcukaitis (25.55), Sharma (28.79), Lara Phipps (24.44), and Hannah Hill (22.82) combining for a time of 1:41.60.

    Mattice picked up the first individual win of the meet, clocking 10:04.88 for a commanding victory in the 1000 free. She later completed the distance double, winning the 500 free by nearly a second and a half, stopping the clock in 4:57.98.

    Hurley was victorious in both the 100 freestyle (50.71) and 200 free (1:49.29) for the second consecutive week. She won by just nine hundredths of a second over Iowa’s Jenna Kerr in 50.80.

    Marcukaitis continued Purdue’s scoring charge, touching first in the 100 back by over a second and a half in 54.31, and then again in the 200 back by nearly three seconds with her 1:59.84.

    Boilermaker junior Meghan Sharma secured her first Purdue victory with a win in the 100 breast ahead of Emilie Mosner (1:05.14) of Iowa in 1:04.52. Purdue sophomore Campbell Scofield narrowly edged Iowa’s Olivia Swalley by just five-hundredths of a second in the 200 butterfly in 2:02.19.

    On the boards, Purdue divers continued their dominance. Senior Daryn Wright won the 3-meter with a season-best 356.25, leading a 1-2-3-4 sweep for the Boilermakers, while sophomore Avery Worobel added another Purdue victory on the 1-meter with a score of 321.75.

    Despite the final score, Iowa produced several strong individual efforts and season-best performances in West Lafayette. Freshman Payton Flowers and junior Olivia Swalley were both double winners, combining for all four of Iowa’s individual event victories.

    Flowers sprinted to wins in the 50 free (23.20) and 100 fly (55.47), continuing her impressive freshman season for the Hawkeyes. Swalley added the other two wins in the 200 breast (2:19.75) and 400 IM (4:20.58)

    Iowa closed out their meet on a high note, winning the 400 free relay by a second and a half over Purdue; the team of Flowers (52.65), Kerr (50.23), Rachel Dildine (50.76) and Ella Jean Kelley (51.09) clocked 3:24.73.

    On the diving side, senior Lainey Woodward led the Hawkeyes with third place on the 1-meter (275.93), and senior Geneva Pauly finished fifth on the 3-meter (293.85).

    At the upcoming midseason invitationals, Purdue will head to Columbus to compete at the Ohio State Invite, while Iowa will host the Hawkeye Invitational, both from Nov. 18-21.
