For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Reagan Uhlik has made a verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Miami, beginning in the fall of 2027. Uhlik confirmed the decision on SwimCloud, writing:

I’m so thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Miami! I am so thankful for all of my current teammates, Coach Mike, Coach Sam, Coach Andrea and especially my parents and my brother for their incredible support throughout the years. Thank you to Coach Andy, Coach Zach, and Coach Liberty for giving me this amazing opportunity! I am very excited to join my new teammates and start the next chapter of my life representing the U! Go Canes!

The future Hurricane is from Chandler, Arizona, where she attends Basha High School and trains year-round with the Gold Medal Swim Club. She’s a breaststroke and IM standout, with strength in the 100 and 200 breast and the 200 and 400 IM.

The 2024-25 season saw her make some big strides in the pool, particularly in the 400 IM, where she dropped from 4:29.07 to 4:21.22. She also improved dramatically in her other top events, lowering her times from 1:05.33 to 1:04.81 in the 100 breast, 2:17.95 to 2:15.11 in the 200 breast, and 2:05.72 to 2:03.75 in the 200 IM.

Throughout her high school career, Uhlik has been a consistent performer at the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) State Championships. As a freshman, she placed third in the 200 IM (2:07.13) and sixth in the 500 free (5:09.84). In her sophomore season, she repeated her third-place finish in the 200 IM with a 2:04.23 and improved to 5:01.55 in the 500 free. Although not primarily a freestyler, she has regularly stepped up to swim the event for her high school team.

Over the summer, Uhlik qualified for and competed at the Junior National Championships, held in a long course pool. She placed 32nd in the 200 breast with a personal best of 2:36.17, while also finishing 44th in the 400 IM (4:59.40), 75th in the 200 IM (2:23.60), and 131st in the 50 breast (35.51), slightly off her bests from earlier in the season.

The Miami women, led by head coach Andy Kershaw, placed 10th out of 15 teams at the 2025 ACC Championships and went on to finish 13th at the NCAA Championships. The team scored 75.5 points at NCAAs, with Giulia Oliveira Carvalho contributing 6.5 in the pool and the divers accounting for the remaining 69.

At last season’s ACC Championships, where ‘A,’ ‘B,’ and ‘C’ finals were scored, it took times of 1:02.13 (100 breast), 2:13.21 (200 breast), 1:58.69 (200 IM), and 4:16.30 (400 IM) to score in Uhlik’s primary events. With two seasons to improve before she joins Miami, she could potentially arrive as an immediate scorer.

Based on her current times, Uhlik would have ranked second in the 200 breast, third in both IMs, and fourth in the 100 breast on the team’s 2024–25 depth chart. Most of the athletes ahead of her will have graduated by the time she arrives, though she will overlap one year with Marissa Inouye, who led the Hurricanes’ IM group last season with times of 2:01.63 and 4:16.96.

Joining Uhlik in committing to the Mustangs as members of the class of 2031 are Madison Schmitz, Heidi Stoute, and Tessa Broedell.
