One half of the blues-rock band Tedeschi Trucks, the Just Won’t Burn Grammy nominee showcased her powerhouse voice at Saturday’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony and concert, cementing her place as one of the leading voices in contemporary blues and roots rock.
At Saturday’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Tedeschi, alongside husband Derek Trucks of The Allman Brothers Band fame, took the stage as part of a raucous and moving tribute to inductee Joe Cocker. The talented married couple, who formed the Tedeschi Trucks Band in 2010, delivered a marvel of a performance of Cocker’s “The Letter,” which put Tedeschi’s deeply soulful voice on display—a powerful mirror to Cocker’s legendary vocals.

“A beautiful tribute,” added another. “Susan’s voice is ?.”
Another commented, “The people who selected TTB to perform are genius and real music enthusiasts. Best choice of the evening. Susan crushed it and the band energy was the best closer choice. Well done.”
Saturday’s raucous tribute to Cocker wasn’t the first for the Tedeschi Trucks Band, who have performed and recorded covers of several of Cocker’s hits, including “Space Captain” and “Woman to Woman,” in addition to “The Letter.” Tedeschi and Trucks have also performed Joe Cocker covers alongside Nathaniel Rateliff, who joined the band onstage at Saturday’s Joe Cocker induction ceremony and tribute.
